FAQs

  • How do I pay for the services?

Payment for consultations is due upon the conclusion of the session, ensuring a seamless and convenient experience. However, assessments require pre-payment to initiate the process and secure the necessary resources for a thorough evaluation.

  • Is there a cancellation policy?

Yes! A 50% non-attendance/cancellation fee ($110) will apply when you cancel or reschedule your appointment with less than 24 hours’ notice. If you do need to reschedule, please email admin@mindsyncpsychology.com.au with as much notice as possible to avoid the cancellation fee.

  • Can I get a Medicare rebate?

You may be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate of $96.65 for consultations if you have a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and referral letter from your GP. We will be able to process a Medicare rebate on your behalf at the conclusion of the session.

  • What can I expect from my first consultation?

Recognising that discussing your challenges and life aspirations with a new person may evoke anxiety, our primary goal in the initial session is to create a comfortable and reassuring environment. The session, lasting approximately 50 minutes, encompasses a thorough understanding of your current life situation, its broader context, and a discussion about your treatment goals. This collaborative dialogue guides the development of a personalised treatment plan tailored to address your specific concerns and aspirations.

  • How do I book a consultation for my child?

Feel free to email us at admin@mindsyncpsychology.com.au or submit an online enquiry here with a brief description of your child and main concerns.

  • Do I need a referral from my GP?

No, a referral is not required to see a psychologist unless you wish to claim a rebate from Medicare (e.g., a Mental Health Care Plan).
